about

Instrumentation: Three 13-string kotos, delay pedal, and aeolian koto field recording

*Special note - The "aeolian koto" is a koto in open tuning played by the wind. The sample was recorded September 7th, 2020 in Portland, OR just as a wind storm ripped through the nearby Lionshead and Beachie Creek fires, delivering darkness and ash to our backyards. If you listen carefully, you can hear the faint sounds of light debris hitting the strings of the koto.
